Eleni Mandell - English teacher

My name is Ms. Mandell and I am very excited to be part of the Grant community.  I grew up nearby in Sherman Oaks and attended Magnet schools in the area until I graduated High School and went on to UC Berkeley.  After college, I pursued my dream of becoming a singer-songwriter and musician.  I toured the world, made records, and had some kids that I dragged along with me and my guitar playing husband.  I have boy/girl twins that are going into 5th grade.  Eventually, I went back to school and got my master's degree in teaching from USC.  I love language, stories, novels, writing, roller skating, and being creative in so many ways, including sewing, painting, knitting, and continuing with my music when I have time.  I look forward to learning with all of you and getting to hear your stories, too.  Here's to a great year!
