During high school you'll make friends you'll have for a lifetime.  You'll learn from teachers who will inspire you.  You'll to become the person you want to be.  You'll be involved in activities and adventures that you'll cherish in your future and you'll learn more about the world and about yourself than you ever thought possible.  So the place you choose to go to is pretty important then.  You want to choose a high school that is a community of learning.  You want to pick a place for excitement and opportunity are everywhere.  You want to choose a school filled with incredible students and teachers.  You want to go to the school that's going to provide you with the best four years available.  I present to you Grant High School.  Grant has a legacy of greatness, and now we're striving to achieve more than we ever have before.  Grant is a place where you can push yourself in any class, any activity that you care about; climb the soaring heights of success.  Grant is a place where you'll have the time of your life, making friends you will keep close to you forever.  Grant is the ultimate place to learn, grow, and prepare for your future.  Let me tell you about some of the incredible things about Grant.  Our school offers unparalleled opportunities for gifted and talented students. Grant offers 19 unique AP classes and a large slate of college-level classes. Grant High School offers more college-level classes than any other high school in Los Angeles. At Grant, you can start taking AP classes and college-level classes immediately, as a freshman.  This gives you the opportunity to take a challenging course load and knock out numerous college requirements by the time you graduate from high school.  These advanced level courses are available to all high school students.  So, how do you get into Grant to take advantage of the situation?  There are three ways.  First of all, if you live in the local area and Grant is your home school, you can naturally come to Grant  and take advantage of everything we offer.  Secondly, if you don't live in the Grant area, you can apply to the School for Advanced Studies, also known as the SAS program.  If you're accepted into that program, you may come to Grant and immediately enroll in advanced classes.  Thirdly, you can apply to the Communications Technology magnet (now known as College Prep and Digital Arts) school no matter what part of the school district you live in.  As part of the magnet, you can instantly begin taking AP and any advanced courses offered in our school.  TheCommunications Magnet School prepare students to excel in all things related to media, visual expression, and creative writing.  For over 25 years, the Grant Film Academy has been one of the most respected High School film programs in the country. This immersive filmmaking program teaches students to use state of the art film and sound equipment to tell stories that have won more national awards than in any other program.  Magnet students also learn Broadcast Journalism, computer science, New Media, Digital Imaging, and visual art--giving them a world class education creative education.  The Communication magnet also offers an impeccable lineup of tremendous core academic classes like English literature, science, math, psychology, writing composition, story genre analysis, history, and foreign languages.  All magnet students are allowed and encouraged to take any of the AP and college level courses offered through our high school program.  Graduating from the Grant Magnet School puts its students on the path to great success.  To best support students, Grant High is divided into three grade-level small learning communities. They are the Freshman Academy, the Sophomore Academy, and the Upper Classes Academy.  High School is one of the most important stages of your life, and we know that the way you navigate your four years will greatly impact the trajectory of your future success.

In the Freshman Academy, we help you lay the groundwork for your high school experience.  In the Sophomore Academy, we make sure every student is making the most of their opportunities at Grant and achieving the things necessary to graduate with high marks.  In the upper classes Academy, we prepare students for graduation and prepare them with the pragmatic knowledge of what they need to know, how to apply to college, and prepare for their future beyond High School.  Each SLC has a wonderful staff of mentors and opportunities for student leadership positions. Grant High School offers an amazing array of activities. Whatever your interest is, whatever you like to do, Grant has an opportunity for you.  From classes in Career Technical Education, you can learn professional experience in graphic design, business, and Horticulture.  In the award-winning robotics program, you can learn to create innovations that can improve humanity.  In clubs like Student Government, chess, band, sports, dance, and many others, you can express your passion and make the greatest friends of your life.  The Grant Academic Decathlon team competes at the highest level.  In Sacramento, the Lancers battled with the best Academic Decathlon teams in California, representing our school with a knowledge and spirit that we're known for.  The medals and honors that this team has won ranks them with the best in the state.  What's the best part about our school?  It's the fun.  Something amazing is always going on.  Whether it's a fashion show, a talent show, a game, an art festival, screening of project, or a debate, our campus is always filled with life and interesting things happening.  The arc after school program sponsors tremendous activities on campus including cooking classes, color guard, leadership, volunteering, and academic enrichment, like the Grant Film and Art Festival.
