Don't forget, we have no classes on Friday, September 4th in recognition of CA Admissions Day.  Also, no classes will be held on Monday, September 7th for Labor Day.

ALL STUDENTS: Lunch Applications
It is expected that every student on campus fill out a lunch application.  If you qualified for free or reduced lunch last year, your PIN still works for a few more weeks, but you have to fill out a lunch application for this year.  AP students, if you qualify for free or reduced lunch, you may receive fee waivers for AP tests.  Apply online by going to www.applyforlunch.com for school, choose Grant Senior High or Grant Comm Magnet.  If you need a paper copy of the application, come to Room 700 and see Mrs. Ortiz.
Picture Day
Picture Day is Monday, August 31st and Tuesday, September 1st.  Students will have their yearbook/ID picture taken during their scheduled English class.  Portrait packages are available for purchase.

Grant HS Class of 2015
2015 Lancers, your graduation pictures are available for purchase.  Please drop by the Admissions Office to see your picture and place your order.  Various enlargement sizes are available.
New Student Registration
New Student Registration will be August 10 – August 14, 2015.  If you are an incoming 9th grader from Madison Middle School or Milliken Middle School or enrolled in our Magnet, you are pre-registered and do not need to attend registration.  New Student Registration is in Grant Hall from 8:00 am through 11:00 am each day of registration.
 
Freshman Orientation!!!
The parent meeting for Freshman Orientation will be on Thursday, August 13th at 6:00pm in Grant Hall.  Please join us to hear important information about the 2015-2016 academic year, graduation requirements for the freshman class, and providing support to your high school student.

We will be holding a special Freshman Orientation program on Thursday, August 13th and Friday, August 14th from 9:00am – 1:00pm.   Special parent workshops about supporting your high school students will be held during that time period.  Thursday’s agenda will focus on “Grant Skills” and “Being Successful through High School.”  Friday’s agenda will cover “The Road to College.”  Both days will also include team-building, icebreakers, and other fun experiences.  Our annual Freshman Picnic will conclude the special freshman meetings on Friday.  More information about the freshman picnic will be provided in a special mailing later this summer.

Despite the threat of imminent rain, Grant's artists responded enthusiastically to this year's Chalk Art Festival theme: Secret Codes and Mysteries.  Please browse the slideshow for a sampling of our student creations.

Grant High School Film and Art Festival
Grant High School's annual Film and Art Festival was on Friday, May 15th.  Doors opened at 5:00pm with the first film beginning at 8:00pm.

Highlights of the evening included:

  • Red carpet photos
  • Carnival games
  • Food trucks
  • Live performances
Grant HS is now accepting applications for 2015-2016 open enrollment and SAS.
Are you interested in attending or having your child attend Grant High School?

We are now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 school year.  Please drop by the Admissions Office to pick up an application and enrollment packet.

If you are interested in touring the campus, we are hosting a tour on Thursday, March 26th at 8:15am.  Please contact Ms. McMurrin (rlm9245@lausd.net) or drop by the Admissions Office if you would like to join us. The campus tour will include highlights of Grant's campus and programs and help answer any questions you may have.
 
SAS Parent Tours
We will be offering tours for prospective SAS students and their families on Tuesday, March 3rd at 8:15 am.  Our tour includes a description of our SAS program as well as classrooms and various highlights on our campus.

No reservations are required, but if you have any questions, please drop by the Admissions Office or email Ms. Evens (kevens004@gmail.com) or Ms. McMurrin (rlm9245@lausd.net).
