Good evening, Grant Families!
We have some important updates for the week.
This is the final week of Quarter 2. Final exams are Thursday and Friday. We'll have minimum days to accommodate the finals. Student dismissal is 1:32pm both Thursday and Friday.
The LAUSD grading policy for this quarter allows students additional time to raise their grades in any of their classes. If you would like to make arrangements with a teacher, please contact that individual teacher and let the teacher know you're requesting an Incomplete so that you have additional time to raise your grades. The district will be offering virtual tutoring sessions with LAUSD teachers during winter break so that students can get help with their assignments.
We also remind all students that Grant HS offers free individual tutoring through Tutor.com. Students can access the free tutoring through Schoology. That tutoring is available 24 hours a day and will continue to be available during most of winter break for students who are working to improve their grades. If you haven't heard of Tutor.com or how your student can access this free service, let us know!
Monday, December 13th is our virtual Coffee with the Principal meeting. During the meeting, I'll be talking about the district's recent announcement that they are delaying the enforcement of the vaccine mandate until Fall 2022. We will talk about what the announcement says and how that would work for your student. Remember, we always save time for Questions and Answers, so it's a great opportunity to get more information or ask a specific question.

We realize that some students were planning to check out this week or transfer to City of Angels. We hope that with the recent announcement about the delayed enforcement of the vaccine mandate that our students will choose to remain with us for Quarters 3 and 4.
