Our College Prep & Digital Arts Magnet is committed to providing crucial skills and college-preparatory instruction in all academic subjects with a focus on Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors levels. Students in our program are given the opportunity to experience college-level texts and interdisciplinary lessons that hone their reading, critical thinking, and writing skills. We also infuse technology and digital media across the academic curricula, from our projects in web-based research and visual rhetoric, to our exclusive Magnet pathways such as Video Production, Digital Imaging, and Digital Photography.
Our vision is to foster a diverse community of ethical learners who are prepared not only for the rigors of higher academia, but also for the demands of a technology-driven workforce in an ever-changing global society. Our school community is composed of motivated students, involved parents, and highly qualified teachers who understand the importance of post-secondary education and who work together to achieve success.
Last year, Principal McMurrin was honored to be named Region II Principal of the Year and then National Principal of the Year by Magnet Schools of America.
Presentation of Excellence Award:
Principal Rebecca McMurrin & Coordinator Andrea Caruso will be recognized and receive a Magnet School of Excellence Award on behalf of the school during an awards ceremony held at Magnet Schools of America’s National Conference April 14-17, 2026, in San Diego
To receive a national merit award, members of Magnet Schools of America must submit a detailed application that is scored by a panel of educators. These schools are judged and scored on their demonstrated ability to raise student academic achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and create strong family and community partnerships that enhance the school’s magnet theme.
